By 2008 Coach Schnellenberger climbed to the ranks of Divison I-AA, joined a conference & began playing football in the country's highest classification; the Bowl Subdivision grabbing a league title & two (2) bowl championships. Known throughout Florida for his outstanding efforts in resurrecting University of Miami's football program back in the 1980's, Coach Schnellenberger has saved two programs (neither affiliated with a conference) from virtual extinction.
He is married, to Beverlee since 1959, has two sons; Stuart and Tim, also three grandchildren. His eldest Son, Stephen passed away in 2008.
