Boca Raton, December 23, 2010 - Boca Raton real estate agent and founder of the Boca Raton Executive Club networking group in Boca Raton, Elliot Koolik, is honored and excited to announce that entrepreneur, innovator, author and Woodfield Country Club resident Warren Struhl will be the guest speaker for the first BREC meeting in the New Year, on Wednesday, January 5th, 2011. The Boca Raton Executive Club meets the first Wednesday of each month at 12 -noon in the Ballroom at Woodfield Country Club.
Since departing the corporate world as VP of JMB Realty, one of the biggest commercial real estate firms in the United States, Warren has focused on a wide variety of entrepreneurial endeavors, consistently recognizing when well-established industries and product categories are ready for a transformation and ultimately building successful businesses and companies around these industries.
Warren founded his first business, PaperDirect at the young age of 25 in 1988. After building this company up to $100 million dollars in sales, PaperDirect was sold to a Fortune 500 company in 1993. Thereafter, he built upon the success of this company, launching, investing in; as well as, advising a large portfolio of companies including: Successories, Genesis Direct, Register.com, White Cloud Consumer Products, Poster.com and American Registry.
In 2003, Warren reinvented the stale, ready-to-eat popcorn market by founding Dale & Thomas Popcorn. Popcorn, Indiana soon became Dale & Thomas's major brand by becoming the first national, premium kettle-cooked popcorn which can now be found in over 150,000 locations nationwide.
Warren's entrepreneurial successes have been featured on a variety of media sources, such as CNBC, Fox and MSNBC, to name a few. He has written several fascinating articles for Inc. magazine advising entrepreneurs on what they need to know to launch a new company. Warren was named Entrepreneur of the Week by Yahoo in finance in 2008 and in 1994, he was the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year in New Jersey. Warren's first book, "Starting Them Up - An Inside Look at the Life of a Start-Up" was published late in 2010.
