Keynote Speaker: Mr. Eric Brinker
Eric Brinker is the son of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® founder and CEO, Ambassador Nancy G. Brinker, and the nephew of Susan G. Komen. Before she died, Susan G. Komen made Nancy promise that she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer, and Eric grew up watching (and helping) his mother fulfill that promise through Komen for the Cure, the largest breast cancer advocacy organization in the world. He is often called Komen's first volunteer.

About Susan G. Komen for the Cure® South Florida: The South Florida Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® was established in 1991 and hosted its first Komen Race for the Cure in 1992. Today the South Florida Affiliate has over 350 volunteers and raises nearly $2.5 Million annually in the fight against breast cancer. The Komen South Florida Race for the Cure has grown to be one of the largest 5K walk/runs in the Southeast United States. The January 2011 Race had an attendance of over 20,000 participants raising nearly $1.7 Million to help fund local breast cancer programs. Our Affiliate has awarded grants totaling over $10 Million for community education, breast cancer screening, biopsies and cancer treatment as well as cutting-edge research.
